Chief Technology Officer

Overview

The CTO is accountable for leading all technology aspects of the company. This individual brings a seasoned depth of experience in building scalable SaaS products and services globally. Having successfully led software engineering, product management, and back office IT teams previously, this leader brings an organizational vision and point of view on how to scale a distributed software team and culture. As a senior member of the executive team, the CTO will partner with other key leaders to set a vision for future growth and technology enablement while advocating for the appropriate resource allocation and investments needed. Using an active and practical approach, the CTO will lead all employees in the Information Technology departments to attain the objectives established in the company’s strategic plan.

Responsibilities

  • Senior technology leader responsible for setting the technology vision and operating model across the Ethico product portfolio.
  • Key collaborator across all Ethico functions to ensure commercial and support technology needs are fully vetted, prioritized, budgeted, and implemented.
  • Accountable for building the organizational model and financial framework for building a scalable, secure, and stable software portfolio.
  • Responsible for evaluating and managing all technology contracts and external partnerships in accordance with strategic and budgetary guidance.
  • External facing leader responsible for establishing strong relationships with current customers and future prospects.
  • Accountable for all aspects of software product management, including team build, roadmap development, and requirements gathering/user story creation.
  • Outstanding communicator with strong executive presence, capable of describing the business impact and cost justification of initiatives, as well as the transformational potential of emerging solutions that could improve operations and customer experience.
  • Accountable for the effective design, implementation, and ongoing performance of technical infrastructure
  • Accountable for optimizing Ethico software development methodology and best practices across agile, waterfall, and other best practice approaches.
  • Accountable for leading all aspects of software engineering, database administration, quality assurance, performance engineering, DevOps, and release management.
  • Accountable for managing all aspects of IT security operations and planning for internal and external systems and products.
  • Accountable for leading all aspects of infrastructure enablement, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring across internal systems and external products.
  • Develops and implements technical strategies and plans to maintain high performance and cost effectiveness, applying an understanding of industry best practices and trends
  • Establishes internal and external metrics and SLAs to drive accountability and transparency on technology performance.
  • Accountable for technology architecture and governance across all internal and external technologies and service providers.
  • Responsible for determining the right balance of internal vs. external technology resources and the best geographic dispersion of that team.
  • Accountable for establishing a program management office (PMO) to oversee and lead all technical project management for Ethico.
  • Recommends and implements solutions in support of business strategies and ensures the successful delivery of work with regards to quality of work, timeframe and budget of the project and effectiveness of training/change management activities
  • Participates in the planning, coordination, and review of new solutions and the work plans necessary to implement them.
  • Thought leader and contributor to industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. in order to lead strategic business direction of the department
  • Oversees and manages large, complex technical initiatives as needed
  • Manages system performance and availability to agreed standards
  • In partnership with legal counsel, ensure that the technical infrastructure is maintained in a fully functional mode and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, customer contracts and procedures.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of working in a technological role, with 5+ years of experience in a Leadership role
  • Proven project management and organization skills
  • Strong financial acumen relating to budgeting, resource allocation, and ROI analysis
  • Superior planning, goal setting, and accountability for self, individuals, and team as a whole
  • Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with scaling SaaS software globally
  • Broad experience and exposure to software product management and roadmap development
  • Good team management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to delegate efficiently
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Extensive industry knowledge with a futuristic eye
  • Ability to conduct research

Location

Remote. Preference goes to candidates located in or near Charlotte, North Carolina.

Salary Range

  • $250,000-$300,000 Annually
