People Operations Specialist

Overview

The People Operations Specialist will play a critical role on the People team. This role will focus on supporting the day-to-day operations of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, office management, and employee engagement. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where no two days look the same.

In this position, you will be the key driver of the candidate and new hire experience, ensuring every interaction reflects the high standards of Ethico. Responsibilities

Recruiting:

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communication.
  • Partner and collaborate with hiring managers to source entry-level and niche talent.
  • Actively source entry-level and niche talent to fill openings with A-Players.
  • Support employer branding efforts by posting on social channels, career sites, and university boards.
  • Serve as a filter before the hiring manager, performing an initial screening interview and assessments to effectively identify our core traits in order to secure top talent. 
  • Deliver a “White Glove” candidate experience through clear and timely communications

People Operations:

  • Coordinate the new hire onboarding process, ensuring a 100% smooth transition and positive first impressions.
  • Support HRIS data entry and maintenance to keep employee records accurate.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, or processes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with compliance-related documentation and reporting.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements in performance management, L&D, and People Operations, constantly looking for ways to streamline and automate manual tasks.
  • Communicate with office vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Manage office vendor relationships, coordinate deliveries, and assist in resolving any issues or concerns related to office vendors.
  • Maintain and order office supplies, ensuring inventory is well-stocked and organized.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Admin, or related field preferred, not required 
  • 1-2 years of experience in high-volume recruiting coordination or People Operations, ideally within a startup or SaaS environment where change is constant.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to pivot quickly and balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; experience with ATS or HRIS a plus.
  • Fanatical attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • A genuine interest in building a career in Talent Acquisition or People Operations.
  • A servant-minded, team-oriented approach.
  • Naturally outgoing and approachable, with the ability to build rapport across all levels and departments.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • A comfortability and desire to wear multiple hats and ability to operate without a detailed playbook.

Location

Hybrid (3 days a week in-office). Headquarters is in Charlotte, NC

Salary Range

  • Salary: $45,000 - 55,000
  • Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience
